Federal Government Announces Budget 2025-26 Date: To Be Presented on June 10
The Federal Government of Pakistan has officially announced the date for presenting the national budget for the fiscal year 2025–26 (FY26). According to a statement by Khurram Schehzad, Advisor to the Finance Minister, the Federal Budget will be presented on June 10, 2025.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Schehzad confirmed the timeline and emphasized that the government is working on a comprehensive financial plan aimed at addressing key economic challenges while promoting growth and stability.
He further stated that the much-anticipated Pakistan Economic Survey 2024–25—a detailed review of the country’s economic performance over the past year—will be released on June 9, 2025, just one day before the budget presentation.

Why This Budget Matters
This upcoming budget is expected to play a crucial role in setting the tone for Pakistan’s economic direction in the coming year. With ongoing challenges such as inflation, currency pressures, tax reforms, and external debt management, all eyes are on the government’s fiscal strategy.
Economic experts, business leaders, and international observers will be closely watching the announcements to assess how the government plans to:
Manage public spending
Boost revenues through taxation
Promote investment and job creation
Ensure social welfare and subsidies
Meet targets set under international agreements like the IMF
Public and Market Reactions
The announcement of the budget date has already triggered discussion among economists, policymakers, and business communities who are eager to see whether the new budget will offer relief to the public or bring tough economic reforms.
Many are hoping for clarity on tax policies, development spending, and support for sectors such as agriculture, industry, and IT exports. Others are calling for relief measures for the middle and lower-income groups, who have been hit hard by rising prices.
