Eid-ul-Adha 2025 Date Confirmed in Pakistan by Ruet-e-Hilal Committee
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has officially announced that Eid-ul-Adha 2025 will be observed across Pakistan on Saturday, June 7. The announcement came after a key meeting of the committee on Tuesday evening in Islamabad, chaired by Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad.
According to the committee, the Zilhajj moon was not sighted anywhere in the country. Reports from zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committees across various cities confirmed the absence of any credible moon sighting testimonies.
🌙 1st Zilhajj Falls on May 29, Eid on June 7
With the moon not being sighted, the first day of Zilhajj 1446 Hijri will be observed on Thursday, May 29, 2025. As per the Islamic lunar calendar, this means Eid-ul-Adha will fall on the 10th of Zilhajj, which is Saturday, June 7.
This decision aligns with scientific forecasts by SUPARCO (Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission), which had earlier predicted that the moon would not be visible on May 27 due to unfavorable atmospheric conditions.
🕋 Significance of Eid-ul-Adha
Also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, Eid-ul-Adha commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah. To honor this devotion, Muslims around the world perform Qurbani — the ritual sacrifice of animals such as goats, cows, or camels.
The meat is divided into three parts:
One for family
One for relatives and friends
One for those in need
This practice reflects the core values of charity, faith, and unity.
📅 Public Preparations Underway
With the date now confirmed, preparations for Eid across Pakistan are expected to accelerate. Livestock markets will see increased activity, and families will begin finalizing their Qurbani arrangements, Eid shopping, and travel plans for the festive occasion.
Local administrations in cities are also expected to announce waste management plans, public safety protocols, and Eid prayer arrangements in the coming days.
📌 Conclusion
Eid-ul-Adha is not only a celebration but a powerful reminder of sacrifice, submission, and sharing. As Pakistan prepares to celebrate on June 7, citizens are encouraged to follow guidelines, perform Qurbani responsibly, and remember the less fortunate during this spiritually significant time.
