Over 130,000 Foreign Jobs Available for Pakistanis via Emigration Bureau

Over 130,000 Foreign Jobs Available for Pakistanis via Emigration Bureau
The opportunity for foreign jobs for Pakistanis continues to grow, as the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) reveals that over 131,000 job openings are currently available for Pakistani workers abroad.

337,000 Pakistanis Already Employed Abroad in 2025
According to official data, around 337,000 Pakistanis have already proceeded abroad for employment in the first half of 2025 — from January 1 to June 30. These figures reflect the increasing demand for skilled and unskilled Pakistani labor in the global workforce.

Out of the 275,669 foreign job positions registered with the Bureau, 143,854 have already been filled, leaving 131,817 opportunities still open for those seeking overseas careers.

Bureau of Emigration: A Legacy of Overseas Employment
Since its establishment in 1971, the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment has facilitated employment abroad for more than 10 million Pakistani workers. It operates under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (MOP&HRD), acting as a regulatory and facilitative body.

In 2015, the highest number of Pakistanis — nearly 946,571 individuals — went abroad for employment, setting a national record.

Foreign Employment Supports Pakistan’s Economy
Foreign jobs for Pakistanis serve as a backbone for the national economy. Remittances from overseas workers help support debt servicing, import payments, poverty alleviation, infrastructure projects, and economic growth.

The Bureau regulates and monitors the emigration process, especially through licensed Overseas Employment Promoters (OEPs) and individuals securing jobs abroad via personal networks or direct recruitment.

Data-Driven Planning and Policy Development
One of the Bureau’s core tasks is maintaining comprehensive emigration data. This statistical information is vital for policy development, economic planning, and international workforce agreements.

Such data-driven efforts allow the Economic Affairs Division and other departments to align national priorities with manpower exports.

Emigrant Welfare, Insurance & Legal Framework
The Bureau operates under the Emigration Ordinance of 1979, overseeing several critical functions including:

Pre-departure briefings for emigrants

Mandatory insurance coverage for Pakistani workers abroad

Issuance and monitoring of OEP licenses

Protection of emigrant rights

Supervision through 7 Protectorates of Emigrants offices

MOUs with foreign governments for manpower export

Management of the State Life Emigrants Insurance Fund (SLEIF)

These measures ensure not only the regulation of emigration but also the safety and welfare of overseas Pakistani workers.

Final Thoughts
With over 130,000 foreign jobs for Pakistanis still available, and hundreds of thousands already employed abroad this year, Pakistan’s workforce continues to play a crucial role in global markets. The Bureau of Emigration’s efforts are vital in expanding employment opportunities, ensuring emigrant welfare, and strengthening Pakistan’s economy through remittances and global integration.
