Karachi University Scholarships Announced for 2025
Karachi University has announced scholarships worth Rs. 5.9 million for students across five departments, thanks to a partnership with a private organization. This initiative is part of the university’s ongoing commitment to support talented students who face financial barriers to higher education.
Scholarships to Support Access to Higher Education
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Iraqi highlighted the severe challenges facing higher education in Pakistan. He emphasized that only 2% of students in the country manage to access universities due to financial difficulties and unemployment.
The Vice Chancellor stressed that Karachi University Scholarships are more than just financial aid — they represent a step toward reducing inequality in education. He urged both the government and the private sector to play an active role in making higher education accessible for all.

Role of Private Sector in Education
Dr. Iraqi noted that limited government funding and weak industrial growth have intensified the crisis. With many families struggling to pay tuition fees, scholarships are becoming increasingly essential. By stepping forward, private institutions are playing a vital role in shaping Pakistan’s educational future.

Karachi University’s Student Admission Fund
In addition to this new partnership, Karachi University has already established alumni-backed scholarships in various departments. The institution is also unique in Pakistan for having a dedicated Student Admission Fund.
Last year, Rs. 10 million was allocated under this fund to support academically qualified students who could not otherwise afford to study. This innovative approach shows the university’s long-standing dedication to ensuring that financial hardship does not prevent deserving students from achieving their goals.
Building a Brighter Future
Scholarships such as these not only relieve financial stress but also encourage students to focus on their studies, research, and career goals. By investing in education today, Karachi University and its partners are helping to build a skilled workforce that can contribute to Pakistan’s progress.
