Pakistan International Ferry Service to Iran Begins This Month
Pakistan International Ferry Service is set to officially begin later this month as the country launches its first international ferry route from Karachi Port to Iran’s Chabahar Port.
According to officials, the service will commence on January 22 and is aimed primarily at facilitating religious tourism between Pakistan and Iran.
The ferry will transport up to 240 passengers per trip, with an estimated travel time of 12 to 14 hours.

Pakistan International Ferry Service will operate between Karachi Port and Chabahar Port in Iran.

Pakistan International Ferry Service operations will be handled through a newly inaugurated terminal at Karachi Port.
Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry inaugurated the terminal and confirmed that:
- Customs systems are fully operational
- Immigration procedures meet international standards
- Arrival and departure records will be digitally maintained
The terminal has been developed specifically to support international ferry travel.
