Upgrade of Railway Crossings
Sindh will finance the replacement and upgrading of 100 manned railway crossings as part of the plan.
The chief minister directed the immediate release of funds to ensure that work begins without delay.
Upgraded crossings are expected to improve safety and reduce accidents on busy rail routes.
Federal Support for Pakistan Railways New Trains
The federal railways minister assured full technical support from Pakistan Railways for the project.
He confirmed that Pakistan Railways would provide the required right of way and operational assistance to ensure smooth implementation.
Both governments also agreed to finalize a 25 year partnership framework to support long term railway development.

Officials said the project represents a major step toward modernizing Pakistan Railways and strengthening regional connectivity.
Improved suburban rail services are expected to reduce road congestion, lower travel costs, and support economic activity across Sindh.
Historical Context of Railway Development in Sindh
Sindh has historically played a central role in Pakistan’s railway network, connecting ports, agricultural regions, and industrial centers.
