Other categories of foreign employees must receive no less than BYN 2,100 per month, up from the previous BYN 2,000, to meet the eligibility criteria for employment in Belarus.

New Income Thresholds for Family Sponsorship

  • Foreigners planning to bring their families to Belarus must also meet the revised household income requirements.
  • For a spouse, the minimum monthly income is now BYN 2,624.97, up slightly from BYN 2,623.92.
  • For children, the required income ranges from BYN 305.86 to BYN 479.59 per child per month, depending on age.

Authorities review these thresholds quarterly, so applicants should always verify the latest figures before submitting sponsorship applications.

Employer and Tax Obligations in Belarus

All foreign employees must be officially registered on the local payroll, with salaries paid in Belarusian rubles (BYN). However, employers may link pay to foreign currencies using the official exchange rate.

  • 6% employer contribution for accident insurance
  • 1% employee contribution to social security
  • 13% personal income tax withheld from salaries
