ISLAMABAD — The federal government has announced another Pakistan fuel price hike, increasing petrol, diesel, and domestic gas rates — a move that will add further strain on already inflation-weary citizens.
⛽ Pakistan Fuel Price Hike: New Petrol & Diesel Prices
According to an official Finance Division notification issued late Monday night, the prices have gone up as follows:
Petrol: up by Rs8.36 per litre, from Rs258.43 to Rs266.79
High-Speed Diesel (HSD): up by Rs10.39 per litre, from Rs262.59 to Rs272.98
The new rates took effect immediately from July 1, based on the latest recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and relevant ministries.
🌍 Pakistan Fuel Price Hike: Why the Fuel Prices Increased Again
The government cited volatile international oil markets and fluctuations in the local currency as the main reasons behind this latest Pakistan fuel price hike. Fuel prices in Pakistan are reviewed every fortnight, with adjustments tied to global oil benchmarks and the exchange rate.
📈 Pakistan Fuel Price Hike: Previous Price Adjustments
Earlier on June 15, petrol prices had already increased by Rs4.80 per litre, while diesel was raised by Rs7.95 per litre, reflecting the same global trends.
🔥Pakistan Fuel Price Hike: Gas Tariffs Also Hiked
In addition to the fuel price hike, OGRA has officially issued a notification for a significant increase in domestic gas prices, effective July 1, 2025.
Key details:
Domestic gas tariffs have been revised upward by up to 50% in some categories.
New rates will range from Rs200 to Rs4,200 per MMBTU, depending on usage slabs.
Fixed monthly charges have also been introduced for household consumers.
📌 More Pressure on Citizens
The back-to-back hikes in petrol, diesel, and gas prices come as Pakistan continues to battle high inflation, adding more financial pressure on households and businesses.
Residents have been urged to plan their budgets accordingly as the impact of the Pakistan fuel price hike and higher gas tariffs will be felt in transport, power generation, and everyday living costs.
