Rawalpindi Gets Five New Flyovers and Underpasses<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Punjab government has approved a major infrastructure development project for Rawalpindi, including the construction of three underpasses and two flyovers. The initiative aims to address the growing traffic congestion at the city\u2019s busiest junctions \u2014 Katchery Chowk, Jinnah Park (Annexy Chowk) on Airport Road, and Iftikhar Janjua Chowk on G.T. Road.<\/p>\n

Project Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to official details, the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has given collective approval for these five projects, with a total estimated cost exceeding Rs. 13.33 billion. The Frontier Works Organization (FWO) has been assigned the execution responsibility, and initial work such as piling tests has already begun near Fatima Jinnah Women University and the district courts.<\/p>\n

These projects are designed to smooth traffic flow for more than 482,000 vehicles that move through the city daily, reducing congestion and travel time significantly.<\/p>\n
