Dangerous Amazon catfish sightings in Pakistan have raised serious environmental concerns as experts warn the invasive species could damage native aquatic ecosystems and local fisheries.<\/p>\n
According to WWF Pakistan the Amazon sailfin catfish was recently spotted at Karachi Fish Harbor while another specimen was recovered from a reservoir near Sukkur. Native to Latin America the species has now begun spreading rapidly across Sindh and parts of southern Punjab.<\/p>\n
The Amazon sailfin catfish is easily identified by its armored body covered in hard bony plates and its strong sail like dorsal fin.<\/p>\n
